JACKSONVILLE, FL – January 4, 1999 – ACR Systems, Inc., a software
developer of point-of-sale retail applications and a leading integrator of open
systems technology, announces the formation of a business alliance with PSI, a
provider of self checkout systems featuring the exclusive ACM® – Automated
Checkout Machine.

Under the new business agreement with PSI, ACR as a VAR (Value Added
Reseller) will sell the ACM self checkout system and PSI will install, service and
support the system from one of its nationwide offices.

ACR Systems, Inc. recommends PSI’s ACM self checkout system to retailers who
are interested in improving the level of service to their shoppers while satisfying
their own needs for self-service checkout. "The ACR and PSI partnership provides
both current and new customers the best in Self-Checkout and Open-Systems POS

solutions to be offered within the Retail Industry. The integration of the ACM from
Productivity Solutions into the ACR family of supported products will be yet
another opportunity for our retailers to reduce their overall operating expenses and
accelerate their ROI with ACR Open-Systems, " said Ron Tanler, President and
CEO of ACR Systems, Inc.

"We are pleased to enter into this partnership with ACR. Through this alliance,
more retailers will be able to offer the superior customer service benefits of ACM
Self Checkout to their shoppers and we look forward to including ACR POS clients

into our growing family of users," said David C. Fries, President and CEO of
Productivity Solutions, Inc.

The ACM system integrated with the ACR-2000™ POS will be featured in the
ACR booth at the FMI MarkeTechnics Conference in New Orleans, February 26 –

28, 1999.

ACM Product Description: The system is comprised of user-friendly,
shopper-operated checkout lanes that resemble conventional checkout lanes.
Shoppers simply scan their items at one of the ACM lanes, then either pay at the
lane or proceed to a centrally located ACM paystation to pay. The system is easy
to use and is equipped with both touch screen and voice synthesized assistance. It
is secure because the patented ACM security system checks each item’s
characteristics against a complete security database and it is accurate because the
ACM is fully integrated with ACR’s point-of-sale (POS) system which allows
real-time price and description verification as the shopper scans. ACM is a frontend

checkout system that is different from other self checkout products because it
focuses on full customer service by offering service to any shopper in the store. It is

not limited to small orders or registered shoppers.

Productivity Solutions is the leading provider of automated self checkout solutions
in the US with the largest installation base and most shopper usage. The Company
provides retailers with industry-leading software and systems designed specifically
to enhance productivity while improving customer service. Headquartered in
Jacksonville, Florida, the company maintains offices across the US.

ACR Systems, headquartered in Jacksonville, FL has supplied POS systems and
services to retail and grocery chains for more than two decades. ACR Systems
combines their own software with a variety of hardware platforms to provide
comprehensive and customized POS solutions.
