I'm curious what exactly we do up here to define us as socialist pinkos in your eyes.. Our universal health care system? IF you check Western Europe.. a lot of them have much more generous and centralized health care plans then ours. Gun control? Most major european democracies have that as well (Britain is much tougher then Canada with regards to gun control)

By the way.. too often an american version of socialism is that socialism = communism = dictatorship.. Not saying thats what you're saying.. but there is also a long tradition of democratic socialism as well. I completely reject the argument that Canada is socialist.. democratic, autocratic or otherwise.. we have a long tradition of British Parliamentary democracy.. and we have a long standing policy of having policies more social oriented or social democratic.. and we do have a democratic socialist party (which has never historically gotten more then 32 seats or 20% of the popular vote I might add in federal elections since their inception in the 1930's) but a socialist country? hardly.
