We're really talking about 3 species of birds... You're right about the penguins though, I never thought of them being as far north as the equator. However, there is this bird called an auk (pinguinus impennis), sometimes incorrectly called a penguin and that in french is a "pingouin" and not the "manchot" from the south pole. This bird from the northern hemisphere does somewhat resemble a penguin and it's easy to see the confusion from just a picture. wul.qc.ec.gc.ca Bon, on s'instruit a tout age!
