Lynn, I read IBD every day, and I have read O'Neil's books. Chris can certainly comment here, as I know he has learned from O/Neill. I thought O'Neil's answer to the volume question was right. You can never be sure that once a stock moves just past the b/o point, it won't fail. One can trade with a trailing stop: I know of no other way to handle the problem. In general, I think O'N's momentum strategy has not worked well in this market. A LOT of breakouts have failed. I have found buying weakness to be a superior strategy. But this market has been brutal: nothing works consistently
