A mania is not measured by underlying fundamentals of what gamblers are betting on, but the greater fool theory.. As long as money keeps coming into the market, there will be a buyer at a higher price (as long as you hold the winning horse).. The fact that they're betting on shares of stock is irrelevant, it could just as easily be a horse race.. What surprises me is the market still considers earnings as relevant to the game at all anymore..
