Bombardier's Q200 Series Selected For Mexican Navy
TORONTO, ONTARIO--2000-09-22 Bombardier Aerospace announced today that Mexico's Secretaria de Marina has placed a firm order for one Q200* turboprop for operation by the Mexican Navy. The transaction includes an option for one additional Q200.
The aircraft, scheduled for delivery in September 2001, will be convertible from a 37-seat interior to a variety of configurations including all-cargo, mixed passenger and cargo and VIP seating.
In addition to the Q200's flexibility and utility, the aircraft's exceptional high-altitude, hot-weather capabilities were a strong factor in its selection by the Secretaria de Marina. The aircraft will be based at Mexico City's airport which is 7,341feet (2 237 m) above sea level but will not suffer any payload restrictions.
