Interesting observation. However, I'm not sure one can generalize simply on the basis of the number of published voices on either side today. Also, one must remember that the terms "right" and "left" are constantly undergoing change. Certainly the immorality of the Clinton presidency (on a personal level) has produced more outcry from right-wing voices over the past six years or so. In other words, Rush Limbaugh wouldn't still be on the radio today if not for the Clinton presidency. If Bush gets elected on Nov. 7, you will see more left-wing voices arise, like mushrooms after a spring rain.

I have never, ever claimed to be smart. I am a common person. Infer from my posts what you will. This thread is full of "smart" people like Michael Cummings. It doesn't need any more. I am a simple working man, a Republican-turned-Roosevelt Democrat union worker. All I try to do is provide a different voice ... one with a little less bitterness and a little more compassion for the common working man and common working woman and common working family.

Re my statement: "Democrats probably do read more than Republicans. At least stuff of substance": All I'm doing there is giggin' you a little bit. I get a steady stream of it from the other side every day, so a little boomerang BS is fair play.

I'll put "Confederates in the Attic" on my read list.
