Delgratia Mining Corp chairman blames lab - WSJ

NEW YORK, May 21 (Reuter) - Delgratia Mining Corp Chairman and President Charles Ager said independent engineers have determined an outside testing laboratory was involved in falsifying data from its Nevada mineral property, the Wall Street Journal said.

In Wednesday's electronic edition, the Journal said that data made Delgratia's Nevada property appear rich with gold.

"Falsification of data was done in the lab," Ager told the Journal. He declined to provide more details.

Earlier this week, the Vancouver-based company said the property contained "insignificant" amounts of gold. Delgratia's stock remained halted on Tuesday.

Energy International of Phoenix was previously named as a lab that participated in Delgratia's analysis of rock samples taken from the Josh property in Nevada.

Robert Gunnison, who operates Energy International, told the Journal that although his company did some work on those samples, it did not assay them. Assaying involves extracting minerals from rock samples to determine the mineral grade.

Gunnison said other labs also were used by Delgratia. He declined to comment further.
