Felix,

There really are three major factors at play in Intel earnings. Besides the traditional IAG, and the investment gains at Intel capitol, you have the "new businesses" that are losing money. Without these new business losses, Intel's operating earnings growth would be a lot higher, it's PE and PEG a lot lower.

I'm not making this argument. But some would say that the market values new business in very high growth markets aggressively, even with minimal or no profits (investment stage). These Intel business are projected to grow (top line) 50% this year and next.

So an argument could be made that Intel's valuation is punished for the very segment of it's business that would normally be the highest valued by the street, the high growth new businesses.

It might be a good idea for Intel to report earnings, in a clear way, with and without the new businesses. It would show that earnings growth at IAG is very healthy.
