Hi Dave,

I'm curious about your thoughts about RCL vis a vis CCL.

80% of my reason for owning CCL is industry related. I think the demographic and economic trends behind cruising are excellent and will continue, IMO, for many years to come. People are getting wealthier and the population that typically goes on cruises is growing.

With that said, it would be hard to be negative on RCL. When I bought CCL, I considered spreading my bets around and buying RCL too; I may still do so. But the reason I haven't is that I still don't know how difficult the near term environment will be while this burst of capacity is absorbed. I felt that CCL would be safer due to its relative load of debt. I also like CCL's higher profit margins, thinking that this might be a sustainable advantage, which along with the lesser debt load will allow CCL to expand more rapidly than RCL and capture the lion's share of the growth in the industry. I think RCL is priced cheaper at the present time (P/E and Price/Sales), and this may make up for the plusses that I mention in CCL's favor. It is really a judgement call on that.
