UbiquiTel Selects Lightbridge to Deliver Critical Retail Management Solution
Lightbridge's Retail Management System to Alleviate Network Launch Pressures, Manage Store Inventories and Cash Flow
BURLINGTON, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 25, 2000-- Lightbridge, Inc. (Nasdaq: LTBG - news), a leading enabler of customer relationship management solutions for communications service providers, today announced that UbiquiTel Inc., a Sprint PCS Network Partner, has chosen Lightbridge's Retail Management System (RMS(TM)) for all inventory and cash management in its newly launched retail locations. RMS is being delivered to UbiquiTel via an application service provider (ASP) model, providing real-time reporting on inventory and cash levels available in each store and eliminating the need to hire operational staff.
Lightbridge's RMS point-of-sale tool is specifically designed to help telecommunications retailers quickly and easily increase sales staff productivity, accelerate and streamline customer acquisition and activation, and analyze retail channel performance. Carriers can either license RMS for in-house use or have Lightbridge manage the application through its ASP model.
The decision to implement RMS came after Lightbridge's Business Advisory Services consulting division performed an extensive audit of UbiquiTel's distribution launch plan for its newly acquired Sprint PCS territory of Spokane, WA, as well as its upcoming launch of the Reno, NV, territory. Business Advisory Services worked with UbiquiTel to design methods and procedures for each of its distribution channels in those regions.
