Jim. Thanks for the continued interest and support. The recent FCC decision regarding OFDM in the 2.4GHz band, if it stands after our petition and other efforts, has the implication that all high speed OFDM devices must operate in the UNII bands. The issue this causes is that chips for these bands are not highly integrated yet and the volumes are not substantial. Low integration and low volume lead to higher costs. It is my opinion that wireless home multimedia will take off around 2002-3 or so. This gives ample time for the integration. The volumes will take of themselves. With all the devices operating in the 2.4GHz band, it may not be appropriate for home MM anyway. For the reasons explained above, I am personally not concerned about this ruling for home MM. Hatim
