Rich - I agree with you 100%. For the first time in history, the individual investor has information available to him that historically was only available to big time money managers or brokerages - information on which to make reasoned investment decisions. This is a historic turning point in the market in my opinion - no longer must we rely on Value Line or Merrill Lynch to tell us what looks like a good investment.

The even better news is that there are a whole bunch of smaller companies that Value Line does not follow and money managers can't invest in since they manage too much money, and if they jumped into a company like SFLX in any meaningful way for them they would drive the price thru the roof, so they can't play on our playground - a playground in my opinion that is littered with gems waiting to be discovered!

There are fortunes that will be made by small players like us who can mine information from the Silicon Investor, AOL, the internet, and analyze it.

Warren Buffett has long said he will never do as well as he did when he first began - the reason? He can't invest in the smaller companies he used to because he manages too much money now - so his performance will not equal his early success (although he still is doing quite well, thank you). We now can follow Warren's footsteps and invest in grossly undervalued small companies identified using on line research tools and resources such as SI - resources that were not available even a short decade agod.

If I'm getting all pumped up on this topic I apoligize - but so few people, otherwise very bright professionals and investors, realize the opportunities available to the individual investor now that they have access to information which previously was very expensive or not available, period.

This is a topic I've obviously thought about - FYI I wrote an article on this a while back at members.aol.com -

Best - Joe
