Sounds like we have similar thoughts. I bought RCL instead of Carnival mainly because it is cheaper. I think it was inevitable that some of the smaller lines would get crushed, as they have, and we would end up with a duopoly (among publicly traded stocks in the U.S.). Because of the cyclic nature of supply/demand in the cruising industry, I'd guess that you do far worse than to buy these stocks awhile after bad news has been released.
