I'm sure you're referring to the only two papers on which Epson archival printers achieve advertised archival performance. The glossy one is marketed as "Premium Glossy Photo Paper." The other one is their "Heavyweight Matte Paper." For longest periods of time before colors shift, you would use the latter. For higher color saturation, you would use the former.
