Bad earnings, shaky fundies. Hard to say how it will do. The last Q was really bad, a paranoid investor will probably think a lot of bad numbers that should be recognized in this quarter was rolled into the last one.

After all that last Q bomb, it's hard to imagine that this quarter could have any red ink, but stranger things have happened. Investors are probably in the 'show me the money' mood where it's up to the company to show that there is to be a good reason to put in any long term money here.

On the - side, (1) it won't take a lot of negative-quarters before ATI becomes another siii. (2) the pc market is apparently undergoing massive commoditization that might have started a while back. (3) shrinking margins seems to be the norm for most players of the PC part suppliers (especially desktop!). (4) Took too long to build their answer to the i810 and i815. [where is it?] [I think it's safe now to say that the chromatic acquisition was NOT successful].

On the + side, (1) new opportunities in STB (still unproven) (2) increasing mkt share in mobile chips [higher margin] (3) 100% of apple oem market. (4) Nintendo64 business.

-still on the sidelines.
