<font color=red>MORE BAD NEWS FOR RAMBUS!!! The new NEC-Hitachi joint memory venture seems to be adopting Hitachi's GLOOMY outlook on the prospects of direct Rambus DRAM (RDRAM), spelling more bad news for Rambus Inc. RDRAM was conspicuously absent from workstations in NEC-Hitachi's DRAM technology forecast at Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International's (SEMI) Microelectronic Materials Strategy Symposium in San Francisco last week. The forecast also showed a mystery (possible innovative RDRAM replacement) DRAM appearing in high-end PCs by 2003.
