Well for starters it's not, strictly speaking, an upgrade, any more than a bias change at the Fed is a rate hike or cut. But I think you've already been told that.

Anyway, I'm short the holding company, not just the life insurance subsidiary. Their rating for the holding company's senior debt, I note, is still a miserable single "B", just one notch above the default zone.

Long way to go.
