well, you be the judge.

A cynic is someone who would agree with the following:

1. People only pretend to have friends so that
they can use them.

2. People are more likely to be unfair than fair.

3. If a person can do something dishonest and get away with it, he will.

A skeptic is more likely to think:

1. I wonder whether that was an act of friendship.

2. Was that the best decision to make?

3. It appears that what was done is incorrect, but I wonder why, and if it's true.

Skeptical jurors are better for the defense because they are more likely to listen to all the evidence and make critical assessments. Cynical jurors are more inclined to emphasize with the plaintiff because they are preconditioned to believe that people are more inclined to be bad than good.
They will have already bought into the plaintiff's point of view before the trial begins.

Since the defense puts its case on last, it is more difficult to reach the cynical types, who probably have a short attention span as well.

Just some interesting food for thought.
