DiVit - Do you even know what "Project Cascade" *is? --- Isn't there a 'practice' thread on SI you should be using? --- Project Cascade is simply the appropriately documented Win32 API that AT&T requires from the monopoly MS and then (basically) resells to Sun so that Windows services run on the industrial homogeneous network. --- The fact that Sun had to pay for this goes directly to the heart of the antitrust remedy. --- Sun is all about open standards. On top of that, they're releasing the source code for their OS and the blueprints for their chip architecture. That they had to 'buy' the proprietary Win32 API second-hand isn't exactly an 'a-ha!'. --- Although Sun clustering has been a weak point in the past, as evidenced by low cluster benchmarks against IBM clusters, Sun is about to implement an ascended clustering solution (another 'open standards' thing which will be shared with the community). -JCJ
