Love and Serve God... I am glad you brought that up. I should have mentioned that as well but then a very basic question comes up.. The concept of God and what would mean by serving God..

As for God, isn't there just one God or do you think there is a God for Christians and one for Muslims and so forth. And if you follow all of God's commandments, aren't you serving him.. And these commandments were delivered to mankind at different periods of man's progress and different parts of the world. And that is why we have had different prophets at different times. Or do you not acknowledge any prior to Jesus and following Jesus.

So then serving God would mean not only being good but offering your prayers, thereby remembering and acknowledging God in your every day life.. Since if the God is the creator of all things and if there is only one God, then there can't be a different one for each group.. It would also mean each successive revelation would be the latest word from God etc. etc... But if we take this line of thought any further, then life becomes complex again...

And as for you comment "I don't think there is any one "good" enough to be saved based on his/her own works or attitudes", don't you believe in asking God for forgiveness for your transgressions.. If you believe that there is a God and if you believe that you have not lived up to what was expected of you, surely you would ask for forgiveness from your heart and isn't God merciful... Or do you think god is vengeful that he will railroad his creature to hell.. But again that would raise the question of "How good must one be?" as you said.. Again, no simplistic answers.. That is why I take the exception to simple pronouncements..

I suppose we can go on discussing this but I certainly am not qualified so let's end it here..
