SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 25, 2000-- Fujitsu PC Corporation (FPC), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Fujitsu, Ltd., today introduced the next generation of its pen tablet computer line with the Stylistic(TM) LT C-500. Weighing a mere 2.5 pounds, the ultra-thin Stylistic LT C-500 features an Intel® Celeron(TM) 500MHz processor, 6GB hard drive, and up to 256MB SDRAM. The Stylistic LT C-500 is the ideal solution for demanding mobile enterprise applications in markets such as merchandising, pharmaceutical, outpatient and home healthcare.

The Stylistic LT C-500 provides instantaneous decision support at the tap of a pen, while its built-in keypad offers easy numeric data entry and retrieval -- all within its 9.6 x 6.3 x 1.1-1.6 form factor design. Users can instantly transform the pen tablet into a full-fledged notebook or office computer to write reports or log onto the Internet by using the optional wireless keyboard and portfolio case or mini dock.
The Stylistic LT C-500 is available with either Microsoft® Windows® 98 with Pen Services 2.0 and PenX 1.7 or Windows® 2000 Professional with PenX 2.0. Featuring a brightness enhanced 8.4 backlit SVGA TFT Color LCD and a liquid-filled digitizer, the Stylistic LT C-500 display is viewable both indoors and outdoors. The system also includes a 3100 mAh Lithium Ion main battery for long battery life and a bridge battery for warm swapping of additional main batteries.
Standard connectivity options include an embedded 56K(1) V.90 modem and 100Base-TX Ethernet module for seamless connectivity whether working on the road or in the office. The embedded modem provides greater reliability and durability than a PC Card modem while simplifying remote access. The pen tablet's design makes it ``Wireless Ready'' by maximizing range and minimizing interference with a variety of wireless LAN and WAN services. Fujitsu's new pen tablet also features one Type II Cardbus PC Card slot and one Type II Compact Flash slot, a USB port, IrDA port, wireless keyboard port, microphone and headphone jacks and a mini dock connector.
The optional mini dock can transform the Stylistic LT C-500 into a full-fledged desktop replacement. Additional connectivity provided via the mini dock includes, a PS/2 mouse port, PS/2 keyboard port, second USB port, serial port, parallel port, Ethernet jack, FDD port and video port. Other optional peripherals include video out adapter, serial adapter, floppy disk drive, wireless keyboard, external battery charger and additional 3100mAh Lithium Ion battery packs.
Fujitsu's latest pen tablet is currently available now through a worldwide network of Fujitsu PC Corporation value-added resellers (VARs) and system integrators.
