John/OT. Sorry to hear that about old Bert. When I was a broker with a major W.S. firm during the 80-82 bear market Dohmen and Granville(Wolanchuk) were hot and got some great timing and short sale ideas via them. My clients loved me, but eventually got in hot water with the office mgr because our firm had buy recs on almost every stock I was cleaning up on the short side with. Big confrontation eventually occurred and I quit the biz. Smartest thing I ever did, LOL. Lotta folks who weren't working the markets full time back then have never been through a real bear market. 87' sure qualified in %age decline but the grinding month after month downside with failed rallies and then more downside is something this generation of brokers and mutual fund managers has had little experience with. My guess? That lack of bear market experience will become painfully clear to average investors relying on their brokers (analysts) and Fund mgrs invest for and/or advise them during the 12 months directly ahead.
