Don: You've hit the nail on the head re: Peggy Noonan. She is indeed trite and foolish, and also deceptively mean-spirited. Lest we forget, she is the author of the famous "Read my lips ..." blurb that our last "cut taxes and spend" president, George Sr., failed to take embrace. C-Span about a year ago covered a speech Noonan gave to some right-wing group. She began her speech with some lame joke about incest in Arkansas. Peg thought the joke was funny but no one else did.
