Dear Elmer:

For a chip that supposed to be out next month, Intel only touted two applications so far. AMD touted all current apps before Athlon was released. All around it blew up Katmai when released. There was not a hole in clock speed bins between Pentium and PPro, between PPro and P2, between P2 and P3, between Katmai and Coppermine, and between K6 and Athlon. There is now between P4 and P3. Why is that Elmer? I did not call PPro a bad CPU because it did not do well in 16 bit apps. I am faulting P4 because it has not apparently done well with those applications where people pay a lot for doing them (RDBMS, web serving, simulations, etc.).
