Ted, I have no idea on when the 870 started. The big thing with the P4 is the shrink to .13um process; the changed pinout and new chipsets are secondary to that, and any really high volume production is probably dependent on that too. Unless they set the price quite high, it doesn't make a lot of sense for Intel to be producing 1 p4 in place of 3-5 cumines in high volume, and it doesn't make a lot of sense to build more .18um capacity while they're pushing hard for .13um. We also know that with the cumine being carried over to .13um, Intel is hedging its bets. Cheers, Dan.
