Neocon--Hey, let's get this Cheney thing correct. FACT: Cheney DID NOT VOTE in the last Republican presidential primary!!! This means he didn't vote for Bush; he didn't vote for McCain; and, astonishingly, he didn't even vote for the candidate, Gary Bauer, who fell off the stage while flipping the spatula--even though Cheney had a Democratic right to pick one of 'em!!!

Geez. And here I am thinking the phrase "all politics is local" got widely accepted.

CLEAR AND REPREHENSIBLE FACT: Cheney, by skipping 14 of the past 16 elections, has no reasonable expectation that anyone should vote for him.

In my view, there is only one valid reason (and one which I disagree with) for not voting: Not voting as a means of issuing a political statement. And I sincerely doubt this is the reason why Cheney did not vote in those elections.

Very likely, Cheney never dreamed he'd become a vice presidential nominee and while CEO of Haliburton he was probably too busy raking in petro dollars and didn't much care whether he voted or not; nor did he care enough about the local candidates to learn their respective positions in order to determine who deserved his vote.
