Hi Alan - besides limited liability for incorporating an entity, it is really about $ [duh, I am stating the obvious here :)!] there is the deep pocket theory. It is not a matter of who is wronged but who can pay. Of course, most of these don't see the day in court b/c they got settled out-of-court with insurance companies footing the bills Everyone figures this kind of r*pe is the cost of doing business, but is it really? [hint: from whom the insurance cos are supposed to recoup their expenses?!] The only company I heard of fighting a court case [not even a class action] is Forester Lab., who got sued for some product liability suit it wasn't even involved [stranger things can happen!] but cheaper to settle. The CEO got p*ssed and fought like a junkyard dog --- and won. Others simply don't have the time and prefer to focus their energy in doing business.

That said, does ALLR deserve to be sued is another matter.

best, Bosco
