fp scientist:

Maybe 3500 on the Nasdaq, maybe 5500 2 months out after generally positive Q3 tech earnings point to the error of the current negative ways...

No matter which way the general market, there will always be those performers who are rewarded for continuing outstanding growth in revenues and earnings...My optimism is predicated upon my conclusion, after some analysis, that AMD is a company that will be handsomely rewarded once this current and unfounded tech market funk subsides as overall positive Q3 tech earnings roll in, once again this quarter...

Just as AMD's earnings growth arises from 2 sources, rising ASP's and rising unit volumes, so also will AMD's price appreciation stem from at least 2 sources...a turnaround in Nas sentiment and positive Q3 AMD earnings...a 3rd thrust may well develop from the fact that AMD is currently waaaaay oversold...If it all happens at one time, AMD price appreciation could occur very rapidly...

By the way, EK and INTC, just might be looking at a relatively weak Q3 owing to company specific reasons...There's an awful lot of "ankle-biting" competition going on which when added up may be hurting these industry behemoths...After all, the "ankle-biters", owing to their lean and mean infrastructures, might just be finding it a whole lot easier to adjust to fast changing marketplace needs than their larger adversaries...I suspect we'll see evidence that this is the case as Q3 earnings are posted...I also suspect that AMD's Q3 earnings will place it at the head of the "ankle-biting" community!
