SCUMbria - Re: "OK. I'm going to guess that it does not have any RIMM's in it."

Correctamundo !

It uses a 386E CPU.

Re: "How much of Intel's problems are due to their relationship with Rambus? "

From October 1999 to June 2000, a lot.

Since then, the high volume Pentium IIIs are now shipping with i815 chip sets and PC133 SDRAM - up to and including 1 GHz Pentium IIIs.

The Pentium 4 will start off with RAMBUS and that should be no problem as the P4 ramp should be ablely serviced by RAMBUS availability = 200,000 systems through the end of the year.

Sometime in mid-2001, the PC133 SDRAM Chip Set should become availble for the Pentium 4 - and a PC266/DDR chip set shortly after that.

By the way - how has the ThumperTurd and Dupalon ramp been affected by VIA's chip set delivery problems?
