SAN FRANCISCO (CBS.MW) -- At the Microsoft Enterprise 2000 Launch conference, SAP and Compaq announced a joint venture to expand mobile computer services using Microsoft (MSFT: news, msgs) Windows CE.

SAP (SAP: news, msgs) will work toward deploying its MySAP.com product, which links mobile employees with back-office functions such as calendars and e-mail, using Compaq (CPQ: news, msgs) IPaq hand-held devices.

The new product is expected to compete with Palm products
