geez...that's a sad story.

very unlikely to happen over here...shootouts between authorities and their prey are rare. definitely no shoot-outs with gas thieves have taken place. in South Africa shootouts between various opponents are a pretty common occurrence. various taxi organizations are for instance constantly at war...it is not unusual for a taxi cum passengers to be mowed down by AK 47 wielding assassins from the competition.
