O/T- Frank - Without going into specific details on the IM business, in a general sense, you've gotta wonder what some of these people are thinking when they start to spout corporate bafflegab. Microsoft, and those arguing for a common IM standard, are now dealing with the same kind of doublespeak: they're on the wrong end of the stick they so often asked others to grab.

I suppose the AOL strategy is competition by obfuscation, and if everybody else wasn't doing it, maybe I'd be offended.

I used to sell texts to universities and colleges, some of which were supposed to teach business majors how to communicate. I've been out of publishing for many years; evidently today's best-selling texts must teach future businesspersons how to say what they don't mean [or how not to say what they do mean]...>g<
