Dear Paul:

When Intel posts Winbench 2000 scores for P4 at shipping speeds. When P4 ships (if ever). I also do not see any Itanium scores for SPEC or RDBMS benches. Where are those Paul? Is Intel so afraid that publishing the current dismal scores would show what a disaster it has on its hands?

The Sledgehammer scores can be simulated with 4 way Beowulf Cluster of 1G Tbirds on a 760 platform with PC1600. This is because LDT can move 6.4GB/sec like quad channel PC1600. Sledgehammer's dual 2G cores will be equivalent to 4 1G Tbird cores but will also do 64 bit (I think that the underlying RISC engine already has 64 bit data paths in the FPU and 3D Now portions in Tbird. All they are going to do is double both integer and FPU buses.
