Well, I think I know the answer. Back up my bookmarks and email files, then delete Netscape and reload Netscape.
Just started yesterday and only happens in Netscape...and only the mail program. When you open the mail program if you click on new message, you get a window that allows you to type the new message. The window is in the middle of the screen usually. When I click on new message, nothing shows up on the screen except the new message box on the taskbar. In order to open the new message so I can type in it, I have to right click on it in the task bar and choose maximize from the window that appears. It then takes up the entire screen and will not allow me to shrink it to a window. Very very weird.
Have not tried any newsgroups or anything else. Just the expertise here! :)
I did try something else this morning that I thought might work. I put WIN 98 disk in the CD drive, and then went to start, programs, accessories, system tools, system information. I then used the tools menu and system file checker. In the past this has solved many small problems. There were about five files that had become corrupted and it fixed those problems, but that did not fix netscape's problem.
Oh well....tonight I will delete the program and reload and see if that solves it.
Thanks a lot.
