I don't know if stats exist. But I can bet my life that if guns have saved a life (for self defense), it has taken 20 lives or more for each life saved . Guns inherently are dangerous. Their primary aim is to maim and kill. There are always conflicts all over the world that will exist. But throw Guns into the mix and things go out of hand very easily.
