New Estimates from Capt. are now getting closer to Pi's, and Capt. talks about Pi's estimates. Guess I will root for Pi. Do you have any further commentary Pi? Do you have any insight in WSTL's relationship with GTE? Is it though Fujitsu or on its own in CPE and CO?

I reported on that a little over a week ago. SBC has increased orders significantly, and BT has also. CPE revenue will
beat last quarters, but will not be as large as hoped due to the slowdown of installs by SBC a few months back. I
stated that I believe revenue will come in at about $120 Million, which is still below the average analyst estimate for this
quarter. But, earnings should come in higher than estimates, and will be .09 or .10.

The $120 Million figure is much higher than the number I reported 6 weeks ago, but as I stated back then, that was
still very early in the quarter. I knew things could change. The large ramp this last 6 weeks has been higher than I
expected, but I think the revenue will still fall a little short (like I reported 6 weeks ago). However, since my new
number is so much higher, many people do not believe either one.

There is a estimate given on SI by PI, that supports much larger CPE revenue. These numbers are based on the chips
ordered from VRTA by Westell. If this analysis is correct, he is predicting $15-20 Million more in CPE revenue than I
am. That would mean that Westell will beat CPE revenue, and total revenue, for this quarter. While I can't argue with
his number analysis, I still do not believe all the parts shipped from VRTA to Westell made it out this quarter. I believe
many of those parts are for builds that will be shipped NEXT quarter. But, PI is a VERY reliable source on SI, and has
many contacts inside the company too. So, we have two good sources that do not agree. Only time will tell who is
more accurate.

These numbers are not directly from anyone inside the company. These numbers are MY estimates based on dozens
of people I talk to that are related to the company, and from press releases and analyst information. Use your own
judgement when relying on these numbers.

All the best,
Michael
