I agree that one has to look at the state by state. However, the polls are not consistent or even always timely for each state, and a lot of them are still pretty close. It would be helpful if I knew where to go to review the information on Maine, for example...........As for Maine being GOP country, well, that may have been, like the South being solidly Democratic, but as the parties become more ideologically homogenous, it is no longer so. It went for Clinton in the last election, for example........
