Re "the polls are not consistent": I agree 100%. The polls the past eight weeks have been all over the ballpark. Example: Poll late last week showed Gore leading Bush in Kentucky by 4-5 percentage points. Louisville Courier-Journal poll just a few days later shows Bush with big lead. No logical reason for such a swing. Perhaps the difference is number of appearances on Oprah or Larry King. That's the scary part.
