My crystal ball isn't always what it should be but here goes anyway<g>. Anyone who can correct flaws in my post, please feel free to jump in and edit(or point out) the errors!

The CNXT chip allows relatively high speed network communications over existing home phone lines(copper wires). The chip can be placed into devices connected to the netpop (main telephone company incoming lines junction box), individual PCs, home routers/hubs, etc to use the existing home phone wiring as 'network' cabling, as well as for phone service. Currently, high speed networking requires separate cabling, so that anyone who wants high speed home networking needs to install separate cabling for their computers, or they can install expensive wireless devices for their PCs to communicate.

As to how much money this chip can generate over the next year or 2 is anyone's guess. Multiple PC homes are an ever increasing phenomenon and home networks will probably continue to grow at a very high rate. With DSL or Cable modem service for high speed internet access now widely available, the need for home networks to share the outside internet access will grow. Hopefully, CNXT will capitalize on this growth by being the first to provide a relatively inexpensive solution for high speed home networking over existing home phone wiring.
