FYI,

Microsoft Corp. (MSFT) Chief Financial Officer John Connors will host a conference call Wednesday afternoon to discuss new categories the company will use to report financial results.

Connors won't discuss the September quarter results, according to a spokeswoman. Microsoft is expected to report those numbers the week of Oct. 16.

The software giant typically divides its revenue along three business lines: one for Windows operating systems, one for sales of Office and other applications, and one for its consumer and Internet businesses, such as MSN and Web TV.

Starting with the September quarter, Microsoft will break down the revenue into different categories, the spokesperson said, declining to give details.

The conference call begins at 5 p.m. EDT and will be broadcast on the Internet at www.microsoft.com/msft/.
