That may be the case for the smaller (1-2 way) servers. For the bigger ones (4-8, NOW 32 way) there is no substitute for the big cache 550 - 700 MHz Xeons.

Back to the 1-2 way servers, PIII, PIII Xeon, who cares, Intel either way.
