Gateway selling previously unsold inventory to Vobis?

I just heard from some people who already visited Vobis stores today that the 1 GHz PCs are Gateway PCs. This is not good news because apparently Gateway is selling systems with their previously unsold Slot A Athlons to Vobis. Since they won't official sell until tomorrow I can't confirm this right now.

This could mean two things:

1. Gateway is trying to get rid of their Slot A CPUs to introduce more Socket A systems ASAP (Durons?).

2. Gateways systems with Slot A CPUs (classic Athlons) aren't selling any more (weak demand).

(3. This is a one-time promotion from Vobis)

I hope to get some more information tomorrow...

Andreas
