Why doesn't Microsoft improve the RDP protocol? It "improves" HTML, Kerberos and many other standards. Why not RDP? Because Citrix wouldn't like it!

This will be my last post on this topic. I don't feel like carrying this discussion forward if you're going to continue to invent facts as you see fit.

NT 4.0, Terminal Server Edition used RDP v4.

Windows 2000 Terminal Services uses RDP v5.

RDP was vastly improved with the upgrade to version 5. You can find a white paper covering the differences at microsoft.com. Here's a quote from the summary:

The test results, and more importantly, the actual user experience, demonstrate that the performance of RDP 5.0 in Windows 2000 is substantially better than RDP 4.0 on TS 4.0, resulting in an improved user experience, less network bandwidth usage, and greater scalability on the server than before.
