The coffee farm was in the southern highlands
of Costa Rica, altitude 1,100 meters, volcanic soil.
The farm produced 60 bags per hectare, double what
is considered great production. It was all prime
arabica bean, which sold in Europe for a 50% premium over
the New York commodity list price- yet, it was
still boom or bust. In my years I saw coffee fluctuate
from $60 to $250 a bag.
So, I might not know much about the U.S. stock market
(although I'm painfully learning), I do know a bit about coffee.
DO YOU LIKE GOOD COFFEE?
Pedro
