once Roberto Clemente attempted to throw out a runner going to third base from first base, on a single to right field

the throw was high, an absolute rifle shot
it went into the UPPER DECK over third base
a friend of mine attended that game
the crowd gave TheGreatOne a standing ovation
he did NOT tip his hat

always interesting when Willie Mays or Henry Aaron or Bingo Banks came to town
