Read'em and weep: Thursday September 28, 2000 2:39 AM EST Michael Kelly Endorses Bush, Calls Gore Cynical Fraud Yesterday we reprinted on NewsMax.com a brief commentary from Sam Smith. A notable liberal, he laid out many reasons why he has decided to vote for Ralph Nader over Al Gore. Another defection hit Wednesday from what we'll call Honest Liberal Media. Writing in his Washington Post column yesterday, National Journal editor Michael Kelly says he is voting for Bush. Kelly believes in what he calls "the good citizen vote" - a bloc of 20 percent to 30 percent of the elctorate who choose candidates on their character, rather than ideological views. Kelly wonders if Gore has "a fit character for the job." Calling Gore a "cynical fraud," he suggests a less intelligent Bush would be a better good citizen president. Noting the Gore-Lieberman hypocrisy in criticizing Hollywood but taking its millions for their campaign, and the sellout of the Lincoln bedroom, Kelly says now is the time to bring the Clinton-Gore era to an end. Kelly concludes: "The country can afford a 40-watt president. It cannot afford to allow the Clinton-Gores, corroded to the core, to further define corrosion down." Bingo!!
