New funds usually have a leg up in the market. In this time frame and with a sloppy market to boot, new funds certainly have an advantage over mature funds carrying a lot of dead weight. Frequent fund trading outside of retirement accounts can be a nightmare in tax reporting, besides Fidelity will send you warning letters about the "unfairness of frequent exchanges" in my experience. I presume these letters never referred to their sector funds however. Angler
