smchan, my broker (Preferred) does get trades filled through NITE in the manner in which you describe. I don't know if this is technically is "the auto-ex system" which I presume refers to something very specific, and maybe and maybe not the same thing they use with Preferred.

It's my understanding, though, that they "mark" individual accounts according to their performance, and refuse auto-execution for those accounts that beat them consistently. May be true or may be a rumor, but if it's a rumor, it's a rumor that comes from my broker. :)

I used to be able to get automatic fills of 1000 shares. Then 100. Now I never get them at all. I guess that's a good sign. :)
