ABOUT GAMES.COM...so the messiah said it took two weeks to build scrabble using go2net java...so 30 games x 2 equals 60 weeks so I guess that means somewhere around next Feb is the real opening day unless of course they cheated and started before the official hasbro announcement last Dec.or maybe they will open with fewer games than 30...this news says they are already testing with test players but I signed up and I didn't get picked....how come?.. I am not an AA I swear
We're building Games.com to be the best address for games. Through our parent company, Hasbro, Inc. (NYSE: HAS), we have access to an unmatched library of games for every player, including popular titles from Milton Bradley, Parker Brothers, Hasbro Interactive, Atari, MicroProse, Avalon Hill and Wizards Of The Coast - they're all part of the Hasbro family of games. With this depth of game content and experience, we believe we know game-play and how to "build fun" better than anyone else.
Soon you'll be able to play many of your favorite games right here. Games like Monopoly, Scrabble, Risk, Asteroids, chess, Centipede, backgammon, hearts, and more. Our goal is to deliver the best games in an easy to navigate environment, with click-and-play games that have minimum download times - so you don't have to wait to play. Within just a minute or so of coming to Games.com, you'll be laying down Scrabble tiles with a buddy across the miles, chatting "You sank my Battleship!" with a co-worker in another office, or collecting "rent" from mom long-distance as she lands on Park Place.
Currently we're in our soft launch period, garnering feedback on the site and games from our play-testers. Games.com will officially launch in December with more than 30 games, most of which will be multi-player. You'll be able to play Monopoly, for example, with up to six players. One of the best things about playing a game is getting together with friends or family is the social aspect, and we haven't forgotten that. All of our multi-player games will have a chat feature, so you can banter back and forth or swap tips and strategies with other players, or just talk about the weather. And when you just want to play, there are great solo-play games like Asteroids, solitaire and Scrabble Blitz.
At launch later this fall, Games.com will have message boards, buddy lists, player rankings, tournaments, tips and articles about games, all aimed at offering players a community around their favorite games. We'll also open an online store, to make finding and purchasing some of the best games in the world a snap. And we'll be continually adding new games, contests and other game-related content to Games.com, so there's always something new to try.
Games.com is set to be the hub for the millions of casual game-players moving online. Click over to one of our games and be among the first to experience Games.com. It's a whole new way to play the games you grew up with and more! |
